LITTLE BRITAIN, ON, December 6, 2017 – RuralWave is pleased to announce their first fibre-optic connection in Manilla.
RuralWave is known primarily for wireless internet solutions – providing options to rural customers that have limited choices for getting online. In 2016 RuralWave set its sights on enhancing high-speed internet services for the families and businesses in Manilla.
“RuralWave took on the fibre space as it became clear to us that the demand for internet speeds was grown exponentially and the rural market was under serviced due to large players not seeing the housing density required for fiber. We saw the opportunity to future proof communications in the area and decided to invest.”
said Dan Risebrough-Barnes, Operations Manager at RuralWave.
On November 22, 2017, RuralWave established the area’s first fibre-optic cable connection with the Connelly family. “Having fibre optic has allowed us to have much faster downloads and streaming with less interruptions. It’s also given us freedom to not worry whether or not we will run out of data for the month with the unlimited service RuralWave offers” said Jennifer Connelly.
RuralWave is a member of Canwisp and CCSA. Their members deeply believe that universal broadband access to fast internet service is critical to the economic growth, diversification, and future prosperity in the rural regions of Ontario. “Making internet access more readily available for consumers and small businesses is our number one priority” said Barnes
